Marion Kane is originally from County Antrim, but now lives in County Kildare with her husband and two little boys. Marion is a Chartered Accountant. She completed her training contract with KPMG and she worked in the finance departments of NAMA and Kerry Group. She was also a part-time lecturer with IT Carlow. Despite her corporate experience, her heart always rested with small business, and so she founded her own business, She Means Business, in 2018. With a young family, Marion felt that her own business would allow her the flexibility to manage home and work. The aim of She Means Business is to help business owners to understand their finances through the provision of online training, mentoring and virtual CFO services. Gender gaps exist in the realms of pay, pension, funding and financial literacy, which is why She Means Business supports primarily female business owners. Through her work, and the work she does in a voluntary capacity, Marion is an advocate for equality, diversity and inclusion. She is a member of the Diversity and Inclusion Sub-Group of the FinBiz2030 Taskforce, and is a director of NOW, a social enterprise which aims to support people with learning difficulties and autism into job with a future. NOW's initiatives include the award winning Just A Minute (JAM) Card and Verve.
