Mentee Olga & Mentor Tara

Here's a success story from Mentor Her.

We matched Olga Jusupova, founder of Nat Zen cosmetics, with her Mentor Tara Elzingre founder of Parene, to help Olga become clearer on her career and business path and manage her work/life balance being the mother of two young children.

Meet the Mentee, in her own words:

"Hi! My name is Olga and I'm the founder of NatZen means Naturally Zen www.Nat-Zen.com I am a product-based entrepreneur and founder of a holistic skincare brand (Nat-Zen.com). I also work as a team manager in Meta (former Facebook) and am a mum of 2 boys under three years of age. I recently completed my ICF coaching certification and started to set up my business & mindset coaching program."

NatZen holistic skincare was founded by Olga, a practising herbalist who looked for ways to reduce the impact plastic packaging has on our beautiful planet and formulated a botanical holistic skincare range that helped her treat her dehydrated, dull & stressed skin. NatZen's mission is to serve women, by creating for them the best natural products that help them with many skin issues, such as dull skin, acne, stress breakouts, ageing & uneven skin tones. We want women to have beautifully radiant skin, as well as a sense of well-being.

Olga says, "I feel that my experience in setting up a brand, building my website, and doing all the marketing as a solopreneur brought me to the point where I can share the extensive experience that I gained building & developing NatZen. Find your Inner Zen in Business is currently my Business & Mindset Coaching program that I am developing. My mission is to help driven mums that are starting the business or owning a business get out of their comfort zone, find their unique strengths, change limiting beliefs and develop a plan so they can work less & enjoy family life more."

We asked Olga who are her inspirations for being an entrepreneur, here's what she said:

"Well, there are so many incredible women to look up to, but my most inspiring ones are my mom and my grandmother. My mom raised me alone, she was always working, sometimes even two jobs because the times were tough. I don't remember ever that she was not present with me, she smiled and laughed and brought me on trips. We had so much fun and shared so many good times, but now I know how challenging it was. My grandmother is also a great-grandmother to my 2 sons and has turned 80 this year. She still travels to Ireland to spend time with her grandchildren and help me. Can you imagine taking 6-hour trips at 80 years of age? She is truly an inspiration, she loves her garden and she is always on the move. I truly love them both, they are my rocks!" We asked Olga, what's one piece you would give to someone following in your footsteps?

Olga says, "I really love this quote by Glenn Beck: “Sometimes the hardest part of the journey is believing you're worthy of the trip.” Women are incredible, they truly can achieve anything. And it's also possible to find balance in all this, my top advice would be to listen to yourself, and your body, recognize when you need to take care of yourself and recharge because you can't pour from an empty cup. And believe that you are limitless because you are!"

Olga was matched with Tara Elzingre, founder of Parene on the Mentor Her program.

Tara is a Business Owner and Coach at Parene. Tara came out of college during the recession, and knew that the safer option was to stay in her career in retail. She was very successful and climbed the ladder rapidly in this role. She couldn't find a job in the Philosophy factory and to pursue Psychology meant going back to College. When Tara became a parent, she realized the erratic and demanding hours no longer worked for her. She switched to recruitment where she got to work on global projects and be a part of some amazing industry-changing think tanks. She knew she wanted more and during her second maternity leave she decided she needed to begin her own practice to help other parents find more empowerment too. She created Parene to empower parents to Think, Act and Lead without Limits both in their careers and as individuals. It has taken her too long to realise there is no linear career path and how having a mentor can help your growth exponentially.

We asked Olga, what did she enjoy most about the Mentor Her program and being matched with Tara?

Olga says, "I love this program, I have participated as a Mentee and Mentor too and I think it's invaluable. The connections I have built have got me many business opportunities. A shout out to my Mentor Tara from Parene Solutions. She really helped me with setting up my service-based business, that's a completely new field for me and Tara have figured it out way before me and has a complete system on how to set up service offering and make it profitable while being a present parent at the same time. Great match by Mentor. Her program, I learned so much."
